Feeling Remy grow uneasy behind me, I reach down and clasp a hold of her hand. Pulling into the diner’s parking lot as we dismount the bike and I reach over, grabbing a hold of her hand.

“Are they here yet?” She asks, and I can hear the nerves through her voice.

“No.” I shake my head, check both the parking lot and then my phone. She nods as we walk inside of the diner and pick a booth. “You should eat something. It’ll calm your nerves.”

“I can’t.” She just shakes her head.

When the waitress comes out, Remy orders a water and I look over the menu. Ordering something simple for me and large enough that Remy will eat off of it if she wants to, as well.

When my phone vibrates on the table, she glances over to it and I just smirk back to there.

“They’re almost here. Calm down… it’s fine. You’re going to love him.” I tell her.

“But what if he doesn’t like me?” I smile over to her as I reach over, clasping ahold of her hand.

“Baby, he’s going to love you.”

“You don’t know that.” I look over to her and smile, leaning into her so she has to look at me.

“I do know that. Because it’s hard not to love you, Rem.” I whisper to her and I see she becomes rigid again as I confess my emotions to her. I thought Ryan’s death that night fucked me up, but since I’ve seen Remy again, I have noticed that it probably fucked her up more…

Here I’ve been this entire time thinking that I had been forever ruined. That I was too fucked up, beyond repair, for someone to love. All in a while I just needed to find my own form of fucked up.

But my own form would be someone I had already found… it could only be the only other person to go through what I did that night.

I see the same SUV that Tiffany was driving when we were leaving the cemetery pull into the parking lot, and I nod toward it to Remy.

Her hold on my hand is so tight, I think she might cut off circulation.

“Oh, my god.” She whispers as she looks at Mason as he gets out of the car and walks inside with an even more pregnant Tiffany.

They move to the diner and she smiles to Remy as Remy pushes me out of the booth and then runs up to her onetime friend.

“I’m so sorry.” She nearly cries out and I see a few people at the nearby booths turn to look at her. “I didn’t know. He never told me.” She cries out again as I reach over and Mason fist bumps me.

“So, you’re my aunt, huh?” Mason crosses his arms over one another and Remy and I both laugh, shaking our heads. “What?”

“Ez, thank you for sending all those videos?”

“Yeah, it was really cool to see my dad like that.”

“I’m glad you liked it, kid.” I tousle his hair as I we turn back around and start to the table.
